Terms and Conditions of Business

This issue of our terms and conditions supersedes all previous issues and applies to all orders placed with UK Coasters Ltd.
Confirmation of an order by a purchaser constitutes acceptance that these terms and conditions are the only ones that apply to the contract.

Purchase orders

All orders should be placed in writing on a purchase order signed by the purchaser or an authorised officer of the purchasing company.
We are not bound by any terms and conditions in the purchaser's own purchase order that are at variance with our own terms and conditions.

Currency

We accept payment in GBP [pounds sterling] only.

Payment terms

Payment terms are pro-forma unless credit terms have been agreed in advance of the order being placed. Once approved, accounts must be settled within 30 days of invoice date or when the agreed credit limit is reached, whichever is the sooner.

Overdue accounts

No orders will be accepted from purchasers with accounts that remain unpaid after payment is due or that exceed their credit limits. We reserve the right to charge 4% over HSBC base rate on overdue accounts and/or the costs of collection of monies due via third parties.

VAT

All prices are quoted excluding VAT, which will be charged at the prevailing rate at the time of invoicing.

Delivery

Delivery of custom-made products to a UK address will normally be within 28 days of receipt of order.
Delivery of stock products to a UK address will normally be within 7 days of receipt of order.
Delivery dates are never guaranteed and no liability can be accepted for any loss arising from delays in delivery.
The lead time for delivery to non-UK addresses will be advised prior to any requirement to confirm an order.

Delivery charges

Unless agreed otherwise, delivery will be charged at cost.

Delivery discrepancies

Claims for shortage or damage must be made within 7 days of delivery.

Export Restrictions

If a product has export restrictions, this information will be displayed on the product description page.
All delivery charges are quoted for UK delivery. If delivery is required for outside the UK please contact us.

Copy

Offensive, improper or undesirable images or texts will not be reproduced.

Copyright

We will not reproduce any image or text if we believe that by doing so we will be breaching copyright.
Artwork originated or adapted by us to produce product for a purchaser remains our property.

Product specification

We reserve the right to alter the specifications of our products at any time.

Stock product prices

We reserve the right to alter stock product prices without notice.

Custom product prices

Quotations for custom-made product are normally valid for 30 days from the date of the quote.

Custom product cancellation and quantity changes

Orders may not be cancelled or reduced without agreement and the payment of all costs incurred plus a 15% administration charge.
For the absence of doubt costs incurred could include time spent on artwork preparation and printing.

Sub-contracting

We reserve the right to sub-contract the manufacture of any goods supplied under these terms and conditions.

Sale or Return

Please note stock product is normally supplied on a firm sale basis with no return facility; however occasionally in sales promotions or as part of negotiated preferential terms we may offer a Sale or Return (SoR) agreement. Custom-made products are always supplied on a firm sale basis with no return facility. It would be extremely unlikley for us to agree to a SoR agreement for custom-made product and then only under exceptional circumstances.

Unless, as part of negotiated preferential terms, a deviation has been agreed prior to the start of an SoR agreement these are the additional terms that apply to SoR sales;

SoR goods are invoiced and paid for at the time of ordering in the ususal way.
Items must be conspicuously displayed, in any display stand supplied by us, throughout the full sale or return period.
If replenishment stock is ordered, the market for the product or product group has been proved and the SoR agreement is over and all goods become a firm sale.
SoR agreements are for six months and goods to be returned must be agreed at the end of this period and returned to us within fourteen days.
All goods, including any display stands, are returned at the customer's expense.
All goods, including any display stands, must be returned in a good, 'as new' condition suitable for re-sale.
For existing customers a credit note will be issued for the returned goods. For new customers goods will be refunded.

Refunds, exchange and replacements

No refunds will be made on custom-made product unless the product is faulty or is not as per proof.
Refunds on stock products will be made if the product is faulty or not as described in our marketing.
Non-faulty stock product may be exchanged for other stock product subject to the purchaser paying inbound and outbound postage.

Title and Risk

All goods remain our property until paid for in full however the risk in the goods passes to the purchaser on delivery.
Purchaser's artwork and/or printed material held by us are held at the purchaser's risk.

Product Labelling

Unless requested to the contrary, all product is labelled on the reverse with manufacturer information labels. Where appropriate products are labelled with product care information. If manufacturer information labels are not required, the purchaser must advise us at the time of ordering.

Samples

Samples of our work undertaken for other clients are freely available on request. Samples produced from the purchaser's own artwork are available but may be charged if any artwork preparation is required. Any such charge may be refunded on receipt of an order.

Marketing

We reserve the right to make additional product from any order to use as samples to illustrate our work to third parties. Purchasers who do not wish us to use their product for this purpose should advise us at the time of placing their order.

Artwork

All prices are subject to finished artwork being supplied in an agreed format that requires no additional work from us.
Artwork creation and/or alteration will be charged at £50 per hour.

Proofs

Proofs are supplied for the purchaser's written approval. We take no responsibility for errors subsequently found in work that had been approved at this stage.

Colour match

We take no responsibility for colour matches if orders are placed and confirmed without requesting a proof for approval.

Warranty

No warranty is given that any product supplied by us is suitable for any specific purpose.

Liability

Any responsibility for loss or damage caused by the goods shall be limited to the value of the goods.

Force Majeure

We cannot be held responsible for any failure to supply or delay in supplying goods caused by circumstances that are beyond our control.
